Nuby review 3 - The Nibbler & Squeeze Feeder

For my final review I was supplied by Nuby 'The Nibbler' and their 'Squeeze Feeder'.

The Nibbler is descibed on the packaging as ' a great way to introduce fresh fruit and vegetable when your child is ready' It consists of a plastic handle with a 'net' that attaches using a twist on locking system.

As Tala is nearly 4 months old he is yet to be weaned, however he is starting to teeth and loves to put anything he can in his mouth to 'bite' against his gums. I decided to put ice-cubes in our Nibbler to see if this would work.

I made sure I used sterile water to make the ice-cubes and when frozen added them to the net bag.  Tala was unsure at first, but seemed to find some relief, the downside was that the ice-cube melted quite quickly so I think this would would work far better when we can use frozen fruits once Tala is weaned. I also found that ice-cubes made using an ice-cube bag were better than those from an ice-cube tray as they were more rounded in shape and easier to get in the net as they were smaller. It is a clever idea and I have not seen another like it so far. I can see us getting further use out of the product.

Nuby Squeeze Feeder

I was excited to try this product. It is designed so that you fill the feeder with baby food and gently squeeze the feeder so food passes out of the bottle onto the spoon at the end of it.  Having had 3 children I know how messy feeding a small child can be!! As previously stated Tala is not weaned so I tried the Squeeze Feeder with his formula milk and also with Gripe Water.  Gripe Water is especially difficult to give to a small baby and Tala usually ends up wearing most of it down the front of him and round his neck as he dribbles it out.  The Squeeze Feeder is designed for food use however does state 'it great for milk and formula' so I gave it a whirl.  I did manage to get a little into him however I do feel that this product would really come into it's own with less liquid consistancies.  Can't wait to try puree's and see how much less messy it is than using a spoon alone.
