Dr Browns Training Cups REVIEW

As I probably have mentioned before I use Dr Browns vented baby bottles for Tala as I did for my other children after I finished breastfeeding them. I love the design and honestly do believe they help with colic in babies by eliminating the negative pressure and bubbles in the bottle whilst feeding.

I was thrilled to see that Dr Browns now has a Interchangable Training Cup System to compliment the bottles when your baby starts to move towards using a cup.

Tala gave them a try.....

Hmm these are not my normal bottle?
At first he was unsure what to do with a cup and tried to hold it underneath like he would his bottle.  I filled the cup with cooled, boiled water for him to try. The first cup he tried was the cup with a soft spout which has a 'sip activated' spill proof design so it stays in the cup not all over the baby.  This cup was a 170ml (just under 6 ozs) size which is designed for approx 6 months + age group.

Getting the hang of it slowly....
The handles are a great shape for small hands and the soft spout means it is softer on smaller babies gums as they make the transition from bottles to cups.  The bottle itself can be washed in the dishwasher (top rack) and as with the Dr Browns bottles it is BPA Free.

Tala soon got the hang of the handles but I think he struggles with the concept of sucking the spout but then again he is only 6 months old and it was the first time he had used a cup.

Got the hang of the handles now.....
The Cups also come in a larger 270 ml (approx 9 ozs) size (great for older babies and toddlers) and this has a hard spout - although don't forget the range is interchangeable so the soft spout and hard spout can be put on either size cup. Again the larger cup is BPA Free.

Both sizes came with a protective lid so was easy to keep hygienic when not in use and also makes them great to travel and take along with you.
