REVIEW - 4 little 1 Baby Nose Clear

Teething can sometimes be accompanied by a whole host of other syptoms from drooling, chin rashes and ear pulling to cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose - sadly Tala is experiencing all of these at the moment and I really feel for him.

The biggest problem at the moment is his runny nose. Ask anyone who tried to wipe a babies nose if they liked it!  It is causing him to turn down his milk as he is finding it difficult to breath through his nose whilst drinking.  When I offered the 4 little 1 nose aspirator and room vapour to try I knew I had to see what is was like.  Here's my review....

Nasal Aspirator

Room vapour
The nasal aspirator is for clearing mucus from babys nostrils using suction. It is, according to the instructions, paediatrician approved from birth.

Basically it consists of a clear tube with a nozzle at the one end and a mouthpiece at the other.  You place the nozzle at the end of your baby's nose (not inside) where there is visible congestion and then using the mouthpiece you suck through the tube to 'vacuum' up the mucus into the nozzle end - this is sealed so nothing comes up the tube so don't worry!

Do not place inside the nostril - just at the end.

Place mouthpiece in your mouth and gently suck. Do not blow!
I found this item very tricky to use and needed to get my husband to help out as Tala thought it was a great game to pull the tube from my mouth!  I do think this would be very helpful in newborns or use when baby is asleep but I didn't manage to get any congestion unblocked on Tala.

The Room Vapour however was great and I used it when Tala went to sleep by adding a few drops to a small bowl of water and placing on the windowsill over the radiator. It has a more gentle smell than my normal K...vol brand and it is not so overpowering. It is made with pure essential oils so nothing synthetic there.  The Room Vapour is a blend of pine, tea tree and lemon so as well as having decongestant uses it is also antibacterial.  Tala seemed to sleep better last night so I will definitely use the vapour again tonight and once asleep (so no tube pulling!) I will again try the Nasal Aspirator.

The Aspirator has an RRP on the http://www.4little1.com/ website of £7.14 and the Room Vapour is £7.14 also.  Any relevant P & P charges are not included so please see website for these.
