Those of you that follow my blog will know that Tala has only just started accepting anything other than milk only last week. Before that it was a nightmare as anything 'non-milk' was swilled around his mouth and salivated back out!
So when Tala was teething and we wanted to ease his pain with a little medicine it was pretty impossible to get any into him. When I was contacted to review the Eezimed
Medicine Dummy I was happy to give it a try.
I first sterilised the dummy and then pulled the chamber apart (above photo). Next I pulled out the green star shaped plunger and added the medicine making sure I only added the correct dosage. If you need a large dose you may need to refill after administering the first dose.

Pull back the plunger and add the medicine dosage. |
Make sure you snap the chamber back together firmly so no medicine leaks out. Offer the dummy to your baby as you would a normal dummy and once in their mouth, gently push the plunger in so contents are pushed into the dummy at the end. Baby/child will then suck the medicine from the dummy - no mess and far less fuss and it is suitable from 3 months old so great for babies like Tala that will not tolerate a spoon in their mouths. My only small concern was the size of the actual teat of the dummy as it seemed rather large for smaller mouths.

Gently push the plunger in to administer medicine. |
So many times I have had to hold down baby hands that want to grab a spoonful of medicine whilst trying to put a spoon in, or dripped it down their front as they wouldn't open their mouths, haven't we all?! This useful dummy may just put a stop to all of that.
