Review - Dino Bite by Drumond Park

One of the games that I came across when I recently attended Christmas in July was Dino Bite from Drumond Park.  It is a game of skill and bravery as each player takes it in turns to save Dino Baby eggs before the Dino Bites!

Easy to assemble....
The box contains 5 red, blue green and yellows Dino babies, 1 Dinosaur, 1 Dino playing base, tweezers (Dino shaped of course!) a dice and full instructions.  The game requires 2 x AA batteries which sadly were not included.  The dinosaur was very easy to attach to the play base and the whole game was ready to play in less than 5 minutes.  The game is for 2 - 4 players age 4+.

How to play:

Place the Dino Baby eggs into the play base and pull back the dinosaur that guards them.  Youngest player starts by rolling the dice.  The colour shown is the colour of the Dino Baby that needs saving.  Carefully take the tweezers and lift the leaf on top of the Dinosaurs lair and then as carefully as possible remove the egg using the tweezers (younger players may want to use their fingers instead)

Easy does it......
If the Dinosaur doesn't move then this player places the Dino Baby they have saved in front of them and passes the tweezers and dice to the next player for their turn.  If a white side with a cross on is rolled that player misses their turn.  Play continues until a player is 'caught' by the Dinosaur on guard.

The game can also be played over several rounds and the winner is the player with the most saved Dino Baby eggs.

Although my children are 9 and 11 they enjoyed the game and, like I had been when I saw it at Christmas in July, found it really fun especially when the dinosaur struck! The dinosaur sounds and growls add to the excitement and it was funny to watch them flinch in case he went to 'bite'.  Here's a small video so you can see Dino Bite in action....
