After Effectives of Weight Gain

Effects of weight gain Apparently, there are some side effects that occur in the body before and after weight gain. It probably has something to do with the way blood flows through the body. But that is simply putting. There was a recent study of how weight loss can affect specific functions related to blood flow efficiently in the body.

In a research report issued by the Mayo Clinic known world in the United States, researchers have found that an overweight may cause some disturbances in endothelial function. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of weight gain and weight loss with endothelial function. Endothelial cells in the body can be found lining the blood vessels. If not functioning properly, these cells can block blood flow. This eventually can cause someone to suffer a heart attack or stroke.

According to the study, the weight 90 to 10 pounds of fat in healthy young adults may not be enough to destroy the endothelial function. It is considered an important finding since endothelial dysfunction is a known predictor of myocardial infarction and stroke. Along with the unknown weight.

Mayo Clinic is the study of controlled trials, randomized and blinded first conducted to evaluate the effects of weight loss and subsequent weight loss on endothelial function. Study consists of a group of 43 lean and healthy volunteers with a body mass index between 18.5 and 24.9 average. Body mass index is a statistical measure of the weight of a person associated with height. The average age of volunteers is 29, with 42 percent of them are women. All participants in the group not receiving any medication during the study and nonsmokers.

Volunteer groups for weight maintenance period supervised by an experienced nutritionist. During this period, volunteers were randomized to either weight gain or maintain weight. 35 volunteers in the group of weight gain, while the rest made up by the team to maintain weight.

During the study, 35 volunteers gained weight up to 9 pounds or four rays. Their endothelial function was measured by ultrasound in large vessels in the upper arm called the brachial artery. The dimensions taken at the time of the morning and under different flow conditions.

For the weight gainers, endothelial function of the magnitude performed at baseline, eight weeks after having a weight and 16 weeks after weight loss. Another group was measured at baseline and eight weeks later to follow up.

While the study, said, weight gainers put on an average of 4 pounds, has also increased its visceral and subcutaneous fat in the body. The measurement of flow in the brachial artery of weight gainers showed a gradual decrease in weight gain.

However, when the subjects went through a period of loss of weight gained during the study, the flow rate improved and eventually returned to the levels measured at baseline. This suggests that endothelial function in the body can be affected before and after weight gain.
