Baby it's cold outside

Brrrrr it's getting cold here in Shropshire and a couple of times I have been greeted in the morning by the unpleasant job of defrosting the windscreen.

The cold air is damp and even I have started to wear a coat on the school run. Thankfully when we get moving we tend to warm up quite quickly but for babies of Talas age of 14 months and younger they are less mobile and I do worry that he is feeling the cold more than the rest of us.

The lovely company Skeanie kindly sent Tala a pair of Snugs to keep his tootsies warm and toasty.  They come in navy, choc and pink.

Skeanie Snugs RRP £36.99
They are made of a lovely soft 'Eco-leather' and inside is completely fur lined in Skeanies unique 'teddy bear' lining.  I wish they did them in adult sizes for use around the home - they felt so warm and soft inside.  Snugs are designed for babies from birth until they are confidently and regularly walking outside.

Tala gets Snug
I found the Snugs easy to twist onto Talas feet and I opted for the medium size.  Because they are so easy to put off and on to a babies feet, I did find that they were not quite tight enough around the top of the boot (around and above his ankle) and were very good when crawling but when he then pulled himself to standing...

... I found that they then twisted sidewards on his foot as he stood and were then not correctly positioned on his feet.  I spent a little bit of time chasing him around and readjusting them!  I do think this could be easily rectified however by adding a small elastic hook and eye type fixing, perhaps with a button for the elastic to hook over, on the outside of the Snugs for tightening when the shoe is on the foot.

Having also tried the size above on him I do think it is just a case of the elastic not quite being tight enough at the top for them to be held on the foot.  Tala does have a petite build so this may not be the case for all children.

I loved the design of the Snug and they certainly kept his feet toasty as his feet were lovely and warm when I removed them.  The shoe design is lovely and light and does not hamper his crawling or walking attempts when correctly positioned on his feet.  The soft Eco leather supports the foot whilst allowing it to be flexable enough to still move freely but the elastic being tighter, in my opinion, would add to that support.
