We were recently sent the Rayman Origins game on XBox 360 for review and it was the first time we had come across Rayman and his friends. With the option to play solo or co-op with up to 4 players the game is fast and furious.
Rayman Origins has over 60 levels and over 100 characters involved and the graphics are quirky and fun. Although Rayman Origins is a 2D game the game play itself is seamless and you become absorbed in the whole game very quickly. It is a classic platform game where you help Rayman and his friends restore peace to the Glade of Dreams and kick the Dartoons out and with end of challenge Boss Battles the game is intense but fun.
My 10 year old son became quite frustrated at times as he tried to master the moves but the co-op facility allows you to help out and so eases the frustration at not being able to complete a move or challenge - phew!
Whether you love Rayman and have played all the previous games or are, like us, experiencing it for the first time the game holds something for everyone but I would not say that younger players will find it easy and may need a helping hand.
Rayman Origins is available for Wii, XBox 360 and the PS3 and like its Rayman game predecessors may just be a classic in the making.
