Slimavite challenge 2012 - week 1



In my post Christmas update I was disappointed to see the scales showing 13st 7 lbs but that was quickly replaced 'well yes but you did lose nearly 3 and a half stone prior to that! And that was just since May!'

Sometimes we can be too hard on ourselves over our small failings (like just being human and liking to indulge at Christmas) and forget the bigger picture.  I am fully intending to remember that as I set myself a new 2012 Slimavite challenge.

Losing all that weight last year was fantastic and brought me down to my pre-pregnancy weight.  Am I happy? Yes and no...  being back to a pre-pregnancy weight is amazing and I can get back into much of my old clothes but I want to go back to where I was when I got married in April 2006 - 11 stone exactly.  Not only that but I want to do it by our wedding anniversary - 22nd April.

So my 2012 Slimavite challenge started on 1st January with a weigh in of 13st and 7 lbs and today I weighed 13st and 6 lbs so since Sunday I have already lost 1 lb.

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 33 weigh in



With all the Christmas preparations and my lovely weekend away at Butlins I forgot my weekly diet update.

With parties, drinks and treats tempting us all at every moment I thought is best to try and have a 'damage limitation' theory in regards to my Slimavite plan.


So my theory is that Christmas would not be Christmas without a few nice things to eat and drink and the more I try and abstain the more likely I will blow my hard work so far on the plan.  If I aim to maintain the weight I have lost so far and be a little more akin to the everything in moderation saying then that will be a better course than just thinking the usual dieters thoughts of 'I will start again after Christmas or as a New Year resolution"

I am trying to be honest with myself and actually ask the question "Do I really need that mince pie / dollop of cream / chocolate?" and in most cases the answer is no! I am enjoying  the odd festive feast (such as my meal at Turners last weekend) but staying focussed the rest of the time.

Last week I maintained my weight at 12st 13 lbs so I was hoping for the same this week but to my shock (and delight!) I weighed 12st 12 lbs so I actually managed to lose a pound with my damage limitation theory.

Will power rocks!

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 32 weigh in



For those of you that have been stuck in a well for the last few weeks it is only 17 days til Christmas -argh!

Needless to say, like many others at this time of year, my mind has not exactly been on dieting.  The Slimavite plan is easy to do but with all the treats, chocolates and Christmas lunches that we attend it is hard to stay focussed entirely but then life goes on whether we are losing weight or not.

I was happy to stay the same this week at 12 stone 13lbs and to be honest I think it is about not ruining the 3 odd stone I have already lost by over indulging whilst allowing myself to actually enjoy the festivities.  I know as soon as Christmas is over I will be back to it with gusto.

Between Christmas and New Year so many people start to think about a fresh start in the New Year and finally, for some, the start of losing some of the weight they have gained over the years or just the pounds that creep on from all the mince pies and trifle.  I will be amongst those I am sure and until then I will not binge as, lets face it it is just gaining weight that needs to then be lost all over again!

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 31 weigh in



This time of year is so hard for those wanting to lose weight with all those chocolate treats at the tills to the half price biscuits in the supermarkets 

Last night saw the children's school Christmas fair which even had a chocolate tombola let alone cakes for sale.  How can you refuse to buy a treat that your child had lovingly made?!  Luckily I am quite strong when it comes to will power but everyone has their limits!!

I think, for me, the secret is moderation and motivation.  If I stop myself having anything sweet I will want to gorge myself when it all gets too much - big problem!  Motivation is within yourself so I am in control of that and the fact that this week I tried on and got in a pair of SIZE 14 (!) jeans is motivation all on it's own and I do not want to ruin what I have achieved. I WANT to get down to 11 stone.

This week I weighed 12 st 13 lbs so I have lost the 1lb I gained last week.  Although I am not having huge weight losses at the moment that is a combination of allowing myself little treats in the run up to Christmas and also I haven't been walking into town as Tala has been ill.  I am still motivated as it felt good to be able to add another item from my wardrobe that I can now get into - yah!

Master Cleanse Diet, Weight loss Results



Here are the results, after 10 days of intense dieting, totally no food just lemon juice all through out. I lost (drum roll) . . . . 16 pounds. I'm now 130 lbs. this diet is really hard, I dream of food all day. I even chew when I'm dreaming at night. But it's all worth it.

Master Cleanse Diet, Weight loss

1) You'll need these following ingredients:
 a)  Grade B organic maple syrup, it should be grade B or C, however grade C is very hard to find.
 b)  Lemons - freshly squeezed.
 c) non-iodized sea salt - it should also be unrefined. 
 d) cayenne pepper
 e) laxative tea

2) First thing in the morning you will need to drink 1 liter of water mixed with 2 tsps of sea salt. You must drink it straight because the taste is awful. This is called salt water flush. 

3) The salt water flush will make you move bowel. After that you can start drinking the Lemonade. You must not exceed 12 glasses a day. To make the Lemonade simply mix the freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 tall glass of water, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. 

4) A couple of hours before bed time, take laxative tea.

You are not allowed to eat any food. If you are hungry what you can take is only the lemonade, a mint tea, or water. 

5) The recommended length of this diet is minimum of 10 days. 

I'm going to start tomorrow, I'll keep you updated on how much I lose. Right now I'm 146 pounds. I really hope this will work.

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 26 weigh in



Last week saw me being able to boast "I have lost over 3 stone on the Slimavite plan" and that felt great I can tell you!

I have to admit before starting the Slimavite shakes I was sceptical whether or not they would be affective, but now 26 weeks later and 3 stone lighter I have to say I can't be so sceptical any more.  Although I have lost weight before after my previous pregnancies this was through having to go each week and get weighed as part of a slimmers club which I didn't really enjoy.  The Slimavite Plan is something I can do at home and better still weigh myself at home!

The plan lets me feel in control and that has been a big plus for me.



Today I jumped on the scales and those digital numbers came up with 13 stone 1 lb, so that's another 2 lb loss for me this week and all a great step towards my goal weight of 11 stone.  I am well over halfway to that goal now.

The results of preliminary studies showed no association between diet and the amount or form of sperm. It is, however, showed improved sperm motility in humans on a diet of fruits and vegetables and grains that a diet consisting mainly of red meat and refined grains, Time magazine reported.

"It was a small study, and do not know if more information about the cause of this mobility is worse," lead researcher Audrey J. Gaskins told Reuters Health.

"I do not know if nutrition really cause change. So now all I can say with the relationship between nutrition and quality of sperm, "he added.

The second study, led by Dr. Jorge Chavaro, has examined the diet and the semen of 100 men attending a fertility clinic. Positive results for the correlation between high intake of trans fats and low sperm count. But there was no clear relationship between diet and sperm motility and shape.

"We're starting to get a better idea of ​​how nutrition affects fertility, but still have much to learn," said Chavarro, MedPage Today reports.

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 25 weigh in



So week 25 is here (I started the Slimavite plan in May) and I am yet to find that allusive pound or two that will allow me to say I have lost 3 stone since I started using the Slimavite shakes and Bite Plan.


When I was just 1lb away last week I made sure I tried hard this week and made the extra effort to walk to the shops not take the car.  The weather has been lovely and Tala really enjoys going out on the pram.

This week when I weighed in I weighed 13st 3lbs - Yah! That's a 2 lb loss for me this week.
