E45 Junior range - not just for Eczema prone skin.

I have recently been trying the E45 Junior range of products with my 2 middle children.  When they were babies both of them suffered from Eczema which, at times, was difficult to sooth especially when they had flare ups.  During such times I tended to use products designed for Eczema prone skin which did help.

Both children have since outgrown their Eczema but Pre-teen especially suffers from dry skin still, and I put this down to her spending up to 12 hours a week in the swimming pool with her competitive swimming club.

I was sent the E45 Junior Foaming Bath Milk, Hand & Body Wash and Moisturising Lotion to try.

E45 Junior range of products
The children loved the Foaming Bath Milk because of the huge amount of bubbles it produced alone! The Bath Milk has two layers that combine when shaken to produce a gentle bath milk that allows even delicate skin to enjoy a bubble bath.

Before shaking to mix the two layers
After shaking a milky bath foam is produced
The Foaming Bath Milk was really easy to mix and required very little to produce a good amount of bubbles, just pour a small amount under the running tap. The bath milk cleansed their skin but was non-drying.  It is perfume free so don't expect an amazing smell from the product.

We also tried the E45 Junior Hand and Body Wash which although a clear 'gel like' product contained brightly coloured beads which was a novel idea.
Bubble beads contain mineral oils
I also tried this product on my hands but found that it stayed in gel form for a bit too long before it 'foamed' although this may just encourage children to wash their hands more fully before rinsing!  It was again gentle on the skin and fragrance free but I did find this product went down a lot slower than the other two products we were trying so I don't think my children would necessarily use this instead of their normal hand or body wash.

The last product from the range we tried was the E45 Junior Moisturising Lotion.  I found, in my opinion, that the lotion itself was a little 'thin' and I would have preferred a little more richness to it.

I would have preferred a richer lotion
It did absorb well into the skin and provided moisture but it was fairly short lived.  Because it is so gentle it could be re-applied frequently and is safe for use on the face although I didn't try it on the children's faces.  I think it is great to keep for everyday use but I do think I would look for perhaps a richer emollient if it was for Eczema or dry skin conditions particularly.

So if you have skin sensitive or Eczema prone skin or just fancy a gentle PH balanced range of products the E45 Junior range is available from Boots and supermarkets.

REVIEW - Clinica Tissue Oil

My daughter spends about 10 hours a week in the swimming pool and with all that chlorine can suffer with dried out skin.  It can sometimes flake and nothing really seems to moisturise it before she is back in the pool again.

I have asked her to try out Clinica Tissue Oil as part of my review of the product.  Clinica is recommended as an after sun nourisher, pregnancy massage oil as well as for dry skin conditions and is safe for all ages.  Pre-teen has been using it mostly on her legs and arms as this is the most affected area.

Clinica Tissue Oil (200ml) £10.80 (less P&P)
As the product is a blend of natural oils it is quick to be absorbed into the skin.  The oil is very 'light' and has a delicate smell to it.  It is easy to pour from the bottle and the main problem we had was using too much before realising that a little at a time is the best way to apply it.  As soon as we had applied the oil to mine and my daughters arms and legs (yes I had to have a try!) the skin felt really smooth and reminded me of how my skin feels when I have used sun tan lotion.

Really easy to pour but go steady....
After using it for over a week my daughter definitely says her skin feels softer to the touch and I cannot see any dry flaky patches at all.  I did find when I used it that I had to wash my hands straight afterwards as it seemed to take longer to be absorbed into the hands than anywhere else.

My daughter also tried the product on the dry skin on her face but only once as she didn't like the feel of it there.  It didn't really feel greasy and no clothes were stained by using it - pre-teen often jumped straight into bed after applying it with no problems.

We will keep using the Clinica Tissue Oil we have and, as a little goes so far, our 200ml bottle will last quite a while. It is also available in a 60ml bottle which is great for holidays or to keep in your handbag when out and about.
