Review - Clippy bag

As someone that never reads magazines or follows celebrities I have been somewhat ignorant to Clippy Bags until now.  I happened upon Clippy on Twitter and joined her mailing list. When I recieved a mailing list email I replied with something like 'look great - please can I review one?' to which the reply was yes - yippee!!

Clippy bags are transparent plastic bags that can be customised with your own photo's or anything else you want to slot into the transparent pockets. The Clippy website  is very easy to navigate and I soon found my way around.  I decided to create a medium 18 pocket bag with black handles which I though would be a nice size to carry my bits and pieces and still have a bit of space left over.

Once the bag size was decided upon I chose to customise my bag online, although you can just buy the bag and customise it yourself at home.  For the customisation I needed to upload the images I wanted in the pockets of the bag. Clippy also has a few images you can use of theirs should you prefer or do as I did and choose a mixture of my own uploaded photo's and the 'stock' images.

I uploaded my photo's quickly and easily on the site and the clever software meant that all I had to do was click and drag each image to a pocket of the bag and then as if by magic my bag was created for me to see.  I wanted to move the photo's around and change the location of a couple of them once I had seen the first design and it was as simple as it had been to upload - just click and drag them until you are happy.  Once I had chosen the finished design all I had to do was checkout and wait for my lovely bespoke bag to arrive!!

My bag arrived yesterday - delivery time was very reasonable - and I think it looks great. The images are clearer than I had thought they would be (images should be a minimum resolution of 100kb to stop them appearing fuzzy) but mine had been slighter under that and still looked fantastic. The photo upload will warn you if the resolution is not right when you are uploading. 

The bag is larger than I thought it would be as I could not see any measurements when I was customising (I think this would be helpful to have especially if you are buying as a gift) I was slightly disappointed that the handles were black webbing material covered in plastic as this can be uncomfortable, especially if carrying for a long period of time and I do think they may crack with long time use - I hope this is not the case!! The photo's are printed on thick paper but you may want to reinforce this with cardboard to preserve their life for a bit longer. Here's my lovely bag.....

All in all I have loved the whole Clippy experience and will now return as my daughter has fallen in love with the customised pencil case! With Mother's Day coming up I think a customised Clippy bag would make a special unique present. If you don't fancy a bag then there are a host of other designs to choose from - go have a look!
